A NURSE in a children’s hospital has revealed all of the things she never lets her kids do, after seeing accidents on her ward.

Tori shared that she doesn’t let her youngsters outside at a certain time, or touch a certain type of pet.

Taking to TikTok, the paediatric nurse said that she never lets her children play on a trampoline that doesn’t have a net.

This is because they could end up falling off and injuring themselves.

Next on her list is putting her kids in a backwards facing car seat when they are over the recommended height and weight.

This is because if they do not fit in the seat properly, they could end up injuring themselves more easily in a crash.

“I have seen kids that were way over the requirements and had horrific injuries”, she said.

Tori will never allow her children to stroke or play with a dog that they haven’t met before.

This is because the dog may not have been trained properly and could end up being dangerous.

Slime is extremely popular with children, however, it is not allowed in Tori’s house.

She said: “Kids like to eat it and it’s gunk to the intestines. It makes for a hard surgery.”

The mum also doesn’t let her children play with Orbeez, which are expandable water toys.

Children can easily swallow and choke the toys and some retailers such as Amazon, have banned the sale of them.

Tori urged parents to make sure that life jackets are not out of date before giving them to children.

“I saw one that had lost the ability to float and dragged a kid down faster”.

The paediatrician also doesn’t let her children outside when someone is mowing the lawn.

Mum-of-two Sarah Bull shares her thoughts

Fabulous Senior Writer and mum-of-two Sarah Bull shared her thoughts on Tori's revelations.

Sarah Bull said: “Being a mum means 24/7 worrying about your child – whether they’re happy, healthy and growing up as they should.
While we always try to keep our little ones safe, there can be accidents which sometimes require a trip to the GP or hospital.
We can use our common sense to make life safer for our children, by doing things like stopping them from playing on a trampoline without a net – which could lead to a nasty fall.

“However, I also think we have to let our kids be kids, and enjoy life.
Because of this, I disagree with things like stopping them from making slime, or being outside when a lawnmower is being used.
While these situations could potentially lead to an accident, they are few and far between. I’m sure hospital records will show that trampoline accidents are much more common than a slime-related one.
And there’s only so much we can wrap them up in cotton wool… we’ve also got to let them enjoy their lives and play with their friends.”

This is because children could end up getting run over, and sustaining serious injuries.

“Kids are speedy, things happen in an instant”, she said.

Tori’s video, which was posted under the username @torid320, has likely left many people open-mouthed, as it has racked up over 557,000 views on the video sharing platform.

TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts.

One person said: “How are Orbeez still legal?”

A second person said: “Once my kids hit the limit for that seat, I moved them forward facing.

“It’s not safe once they are over the height and weight limits.”

A third added: “The amount of people that let their child run up to dogs is absolutely terrifying!”
