A MUM has urged Tesco shoppers to check their receipts, after hers earned her a decent freebie.

Curly explained that she had been doing her shopping in the supermarket when she was “handed a coupon” as she paid for her haul.

And while she “assumed it would be the normal rubbish”, she was in for a treat when she discovered its actual purpose.

“I was handed a coupon after my shop at Tesco,” she wrote on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook.

“Assumed it would be the normal rubbish but turned out to be a free pack of Pampers with my Clubcard!”

As she’s got an 11-week-old, she chose some size 2 ones, “which meant I got 44 free nappies”.

“Think they are £7.50 without a Clubcard,” she added.

People were quick to comment on the post, with one writing: ” Wow! I always forget to check my receipts or vouchers.

“Got a baby coming in July and the more free nappies I can get the better!”

“You can actually reuse the voucher too. I used it twice,” another added.

“Will have to look out for it,” a third commented.

“My daughter got her free pack of Pampers also today,” someone else said.

“I got one of these today too!” another wrote.

“I was too lazy to go back and grab a pack, but gonna pick up a newborn pack tomorrow!”

“Unfortunately, my daughter reacts to pampers so they’re no use for us,” someone else said.

“But she had to stay in the NICU for a while as she was 7 weeks premature so I’ll be donating the nappies to them.

What is the UK's cheapest supermarket?

WE'RE all looking for ways to save on our supermarket shops. But which store should you go to if you're on a strict budget?

According to Which?, who compare thousands of prices at the top eight UK supermarkets – Aldi, Asda, Lidl, Morrisons, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose – every month, there’s one place that outweighs the rest in terms of being budget-friendly.

In April 2024, Aldi was at the top of the list, with Which? comparing 67 popular groceries costing an average of £112.90.

Lidl isn’t far behind, at £115.23, followed by Asda in third place with a bill of £126.98.

Tesco was next, at £128.17, while Sainsbury’s rounded out the top five with £131.02.

“Just an idea or anyone who gets the voucher but doesn’t need/want it.”

“Brilliant idea!” another commented.

“I will do the same as 8 weeks early and the NICU is amazing!

“Thank you for posting the comment.”

“I got one for free Pampers nappy pants!” someone else wrote.

“Nipped back round to get them – went on a self-serve and there was another voucher that someone left behind so I’ll be getting another pack at some point.”

“Download the pampers app lots of freebies on they with the codes,” another suggested.
