ANY parent will know just how messy nappy bags can get – with milk, food and bodily fluids.
But as a new mum-to-be, Megan McKenna has all of that to come, which might explain the accessory her fiance Oliver Burke splashed out on for her.
In a video on her TikTok page, Megan explained that Oliver had purchased the £1,660 bag without her knowing, and had arranged for it to be delivered while he’s away “in pre season”.
Clearly guessing what was inside the box, Megan added that the bag will go perfectly with her pram, which she’s already chosen.
Taking it out of the packaging, the former TOWIE star gushed: “Oh my God, I just love it so much.
“Oh, I love it!”
Joking that her tot will be “one boujee baby”, she then went through the compartments of the bag, pulling out a “fantastic” changing mat and a bottle holder.
The bag also came with a longer strap, and had silver studs on the bottom.
“I love it, I love it, I love it!” she gushed, adding that she’s “very grateful” for the gift.
Megan, who was wearing a belly-baring striped top and low-slung trousers, added that she also has another baby bag, full of “other baby bits for the hospital”.
“I’m obviously gonna have two hospital bags because this is the one that will be like the main one,” she continued.
“No matter where I go, I always have loads of stuff on me.
“So yeah, I’m so happy!”
“DELIVERY FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!” she captioned the TikTok.
“I’m so lucky.
“Thank you Oli, I love you.
“Hospital bag pack pending….!”
But people in the comments section were quick to disagree as to whether or not the designer bag was worth the designer price tag.
“I can’t imagine changing a stinky nappy on Prada,” one wrote.
“Lauryn Goodman can only dream,” another joked, referring to the two-day court battle between Lauryn and footballer ex Kyle Walker over childcare arrangements for their two kids.
“If I had paid that for a bag, the baby would live in the bag!” a third laughed.
As someone else said: “The fear of baby sick landing on this would put me in constant fear.”
“I’m sorry but what is special about that bag apart from it says Prada?” another questioned.
To which Megan hit back: “The material.. the compartments.. the design!”
“Looks like a Ryanair bag,” someone else grumbled.
Is it worth spending thousands on a nappy bag?
In a word, or two, absolutely NOT!
I totally get the desire to splash out on a cute nappy bag – especially if it’s your first baby.
But having experienced the mess of parenthood, I would stress that it’s really not worth it.
I did get a new nappy bag for my son, who’s now 10, but it was less than £40 online, from what I remember.
And within just a few weeks, it looked like an entirely different bag to the one I purchased, thanks to the remnants of formula powder, hastily shoved in nappies and half-open packets of wipes.
When it came to my second baby, I again got a new nappy bag, but it was once again a cheap and cheerful option rather than anything budget-busting.
Having a baby is stressful enough – you definitely don’t want to give yourself MORE worry through panicking you’re going to mess up your designer bag.
It’s just not worth it.
